What's An Apprenticeship?
It’s a Job. From day one, apprentices earn a wage and are employed. Often known as a “learn-while-you-earn” model, apprenticeship gives the apprentice the opportunity to gain valuable skill and experience without taking on educational debt. Apprentices are matched with a company mentor who helps them learn and adapt to company culture. Training and educational coursework give the apprentice the chance to learn the competencies they will need for employment once the apprenticeship ends and to practice those skills under the support of their mentor.
Why Does It Make A Difference?
It’s Respected. The CompTIA affiliation and the credentials apprentices gain through this program are industry-recognized and can help a prospective employee gain an edge over the competition for tech jobs. According to the Department of Labor, up to 94% of apprentices continue employment following apprenticeship completion. A successfully completed apprenticeship will help a prospective employee increase their value on the job market and will help them gain access to high-demand jobs.
What Makes Me Eligible?
It’s Inclusive. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome without the need for prior job experience or a college degree. Apprenticeship helps prospective employees get around the frustrating paradox in which “entry level” jobs require three years of experience. With apprenticeship, you start building and earning from day one, regardless of your background.
